An old Turkish niello pendant with a bird and Mashallah written in Arabic calligraphy. Mashallah is a protective phrase supposed to protect the wearer from envy.  The metal does not test as silver but may have some silver content. I would say it's from the first part of the 20th century. The pendant is scalloped on the edges and has hand incised patterns. In good vintage condition though it looks like the bail has had a repair judging by the solder marks on the back.
